Strength = Best Version of Yourself

Being stronger physically comes from becoming the Best Version of Yourself. When you strengthen your mental capacities, you strengthen your capabilities and in turn your ability to handle life's eventualities will prepare you to succeed. You will not sabotage. You will not fall into an abyss of self doubt.

Increasing Mental Capacity
Your thoughts about who you are determine how you will prepare yourself when circumstances come your way. For example, if you have doubt, negativity, or lack of confidence toward uncomfortable situations chances are you are going to sabotage. This is relevant to athletes in the moment of a decisive situation. It's also relevant in the workplace when you have co-workers who are challenging if not offending your personal power.

In order for you to become the Best Version of Yourself increase your mental capacity. For example, when I first started Olympic lifting in March of 2008 if someone told me THEN that I would lifting weights what I am today I would have a really hard time believing that. Why? My capacity to encapsulate that level of lifting performance could not be done in my mind. I just didn't think it was possible. However, by training non stop for years I've reached a level of lifting I'm proud of. Today, my capacity of thinking has expanded and continues to expand because I've been lifting so consistently for so long and have failed so many lifts that I have learned to be stronger.

Increasing mental capacity to become the Best Version of Yourself requires continual and ongoing training. Ongoing training that is progressive will challenge you to perform at an increased capacity. Increased capacity equates to more lifting being done. This is how you become better and stronger.

I encourage you to increase your capacity both mentally and physically in order to increase your lifting performance. In return, you become a better Version of Yourself when you take on a path that continually challenges you and that in itself requires greater capacity.
